Applications due Aug. 31
Logan County has been chosen to receive $6,252 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.
Local agencies providing these services are encouraged to apply to receive all or a portion of those dollars by the Aug. 31 deadline.
A local board consisting of representation from the American Red Cross, Catholic Charities of Southwestern Ohio, Logan County Commissioners, Lutheran Community Services, The Salvation Army, United Way of Logan County, the local church community will meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 1 at the United Way office, 130 S. Main St. to determine distribution of the funds.
Funds received in the past have been used for rent, utility assistance, and food.
Under terms of the grant, local agencies must:
• be private voluntary non-profits or units of government;
• have a sound accounting system;
• practice nondiscrimination;
• have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs; and
• if they are a private voluntary organization, they must have an active board.
Requests must be submitted in writing, by 4:30 p.m. Aug. 31, to United Way of Logan County, 130 S. Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio, 43311 or emailed to [email protected]. This should include your verification of non-profit status (i.e. 501C3), the amount of funding requested and how the funds will be used.
