Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 8:50 a.m. Monday to the Huntsville Marathon, 6990 State Route 117, Huntsville, in reference to a report of counterfeit currency being used in a transaction.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with a 26-year-old man from Forest who had attempted to use the counterfeit $10 currency.
He stated he was unaware the currency was counterfeit, and said he had received it from shoveling snow from a Kenton residence.
Further investigation is needed.
