Community development grant discussed
The Quincy Village Council accepted at their recent meeting the resignations of member Brian Carpenter and Jeff Clevenger as the Joint Sewer Plant operator.
Mr. Carpenter said he has a schedule conflict with a training he is enrolled in during council meeting nights. Mr. Clevenger said he is resigning after accepting a full-time job.
Both positions will be reviewed and resumes will be accepted for interviews. Applicants should submit interest in writing to: P.O. Box 126, Quincy, OH 43343.
Community Development Council member Lucie McMahon presented information about Quincy’s interest in a $500,000 grant for village improvements. This is not a matching fund grant, but participation from the community is expected.
She said the grant will take work by both the council and village residents to develop ideas for improvements. CDC committee members will be going door to door in the community, and a survey will be distributed.
Residents also are encouraged to attend the next council meeting — 7:30 p.m. March 7 — to voice their ideas.
