Clara “Candy” M. Oglesbee, 65, of Bellefontaine formerly of Lakeview, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 19, 2020, at OSU Wexner Medical Center.
Clara was born on Oct. 17, 1954 in Bellefontaine, a daughter of the late Harold Petty, and Rose Marie (Elmer) Kennaw Kindle. She married Greg Oglesbee on June 6, 1991 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2003. She also preceded in death by an infant sister, Angela Elizabeth.
Candy is survived by her two sons, Levi (Brittany) Oglesbee of Rushsylvania, and Rylee (Brittany Owens) Oglesbee of Sidney, four grandchildren, Kaylee, Axl, Rozlynn, and Raiden, five siblings, Catherine Zweibel, and Sue (Jim) Gibbs, both of Sidney, Jimbo Coyer of Carp Lake, Mich., Leroy (Theresa) Coyer of Russells Point, and Johnny (Sue) Kindle of Sidney, and several nieces and nephews.
Candy was a 1973 graduate of Indian Lake High School. She worked as an Ohio Highway State Patrol dispatcher for 25 years in Bellefontaine, Wapakoneta, and Piqua before retiring in 2013. She was a former member of the Logan County Fair Board and member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed cross-stitch and croqueting. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and raising her sons, whom she was very proud of.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview with visitation two hours prior to services. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family asks that you be symptom free and to please wear a mask if attending in accordance with state guidelines.
