Christina Kay Snapp, 62, of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday evening, September 27, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.
Chris was born in Bellefontaine on December 19, 1958, to Lois (Thaxton) Ruble and the late John Edwin Herring. She married James E. Snapp on August 19, 1977, in Huntsville, and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2005.
Chris is survived by her daughters: Amber Kay (T.J.) Weikart of Bellefontaine, and Stacy Jo (Jason) Kidder of Russells Point; 4 grandchildren: Robert Michael and Daniel Drew Weikart, and Madison Noell and Skylar James Kidder; her mother Lois Ruble of Bellefontaine; four brothers: Jeffrey Lee (Lori) Herring of Lakeview, James Edwin (Sherri) Herring of Botkins, Jay Allen Herring of Tennessee, and Jerry (Jen) Ruble of Grove City; her mother-in-law and father-in-law Sheila and Emerson Snapp of Huntsville; brother-in-law Jeff (Terri) Snapp of Bellefontaine; 3 step-brothers; Mike, Mark, and Joe Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.
Chris worked for forty years as a phlebotomist and retired from Ohio Health. She was also an Advanced EMT with the Huntsville Fire Department for 30-plus years. She enjoyed bowling and bowled in leagues for over 40 years as well as volunteering with the youth bowling programs at TP Lanes. Chris was also a coach in the Huntsville t-ball, baseball, and softball teams for many years. She was a member of Huntsville United Methodist Church.
Pastors Bryan Meadows and Ashley Sloan will officiate Chris’ graveside service on Friday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at Huntsville Cemetery, and the family has requested casual attire for those in attendance.
