A Chippewa area man and woman each with a history of drug charges were arrested Friday morning by members of the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force after a search warrant was served on their home at 11406 Powhattan Path, Lakeview.
Joseph R. Myers, 43, was charged with felony counts of drug trafficking and contempt of court, and April McCurdy, 38, was charged with a felony count of contempt of court. Both were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Various methamphetamine pipes, digital scales, drug packaging and cash were recovered from their residence when the search warrant was served about 8:40 a.m. with assistance from Logan County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Task force members had to force entry to the rear door, and the two defendants were located inside the home. Authorities also note that the pair’s residence was heavily surveilled with multiple cameras.
Earlier this year, the Joint Drug Task Force had investigated Myers for trafficking methamphetamine. Myers was arrested in March for trafficking methamphetamine warrants from the investigation.
At that time, a search warrant also was obtained and executed at his former address, 11400 Powhattan Path, Lakeview, where methamphetamine, cash and various meth pipes were recovered. That residence also was heavily surveilled with cameras, officials said.
Myers was indicted on the charges later in March, and McCurdy also is pending sentencing from the same investigation.
In May, a warrant was issued for Myers for failure to appear on the drug trafficking and possession indictments.
