Raiders move six to semifinals
Bellefontaine’s wrestling team is currently in third place after advancing seven wrestlers to the semifinals on the first day of the Division II Graham 1 sectional tournament Friday at Graham High School.
The nationally ranked Falcons lead the team standings with 66 points, Chaminade-Julienne is second with 29 points and the Chieftains are close behind with 25 points.
Wrestling resumes at 10:30 a.m. today, with the finals expected to start at 3:45 p.m. The top four wrestlers in each weight class qualify to the Division II district meet next weekend in Wilmington.
Reaching the semifinals for the Bellefontaine were Gaige Reeves (120), Tucker Newland (132), Jordan Crace (145), Chris Bringe (182), Garrett Gross (195), Bruno Pattison (220) and Anthony Snapp (285).
Those wrestlers need to win one more match to qualify for the district tournament.
Still alive in the consolation rounds for the Chiefs are Chelsea Horsley (106), Skyler Kennedy (126), Noah Yoesting (152), Trent Kelly (160) and Josh Eckhoff (170).

Benjamin Logan’s wrestling team finished with six semifinalists on the first day of action at the Division II Graham 2 sectional Friday at Graham High School.
Eaton is currently in first with 71 points, Valley View is second with 63 points and Monroe is third with 61 points. Ben Logan is sitting sixth with 51 points.
The tournament picks back up at 10:30 a.m. today, with the finals expected to start at 3:45 p.m. The top four wrestlers in each weight class move on to the district meet next weekend in Wilmington.
Advancing to the semifinals for the Raiders were Jourdain Reisinger (106), Joel Abbott (145), Steele Boysel (160), Noah Clark (182), Matthew Creamer (195) and Cadman Roose (285). All six wrestlers need to one more match to qualify for the district meet.
Wrestling in the consolation bracket for Ben Logan are Aiden Elsasser (152) and Nick Rose (170).
