Bellefonatine’s girls and boys cross country teams had a strong showing Saturday at the Buckeye Valley Invitational in Marion.
The Chieftain girls were second out of 10 teams and the Chieftain boys finished fourth out of 10 teams.
“Our girls are improving and heading in the right direction,” said BHS head coach Ben Davis. “For the boys, Griffin Purcell had a career best and it was nice to see our top five tighten the gap.”
Centerburg won the girls meet with 44 points and Bellefontaine was runner-up with 61 points. Olentangy took the top spot in the boys race with 35 points, while Bellefontaine took fourth with 113 points.
