Bellefontaine’s girls track and field team is currently in first place at the Central Buckeye Conference meet, and two local girls won individual titles Tuesday at Tecumseh High School.
The Chieftains are leading the girls meet with 23 points after three events. Northwestern is in second with 19 points, Benjamin Logan is sitting in third with 17 points and Springfield Shawnee is fourth with 14 points. Indian Lake has not scored.
Tippecanoe is leading the boys meet with 27 points after four events. Kenton Ridge is currently second with 25 points, while Ben Logan and Bellefontaine are tied for third with 21 points each. Tecumseh is fifth with 16 points and Indian Lake is sixth with 15 points.
The CBC meet resumes Friday with field events beginning at 5 p.m. and running events starting at 6 p.m.
Winning individual league championships Tuesday were the Raiders’ Coreen Crosby and the Chiefs’ Sebella Martin. Crosby won the girls high jump with a height of 5-0, while Martin won the girls shot put with a throw of 35-8 1/2.
