It was an unsettled preseason for the Bellefontaine boys basketball team.
The Chiefs were already tasked with getting a big group of newcomers initiated to the varsity level. Then, with the football team making a two-game run into the postseason, the basketball squad had to wait to get its full roster together.
“When we tip off Friday, we will have had everyone together for nine practices,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jason Calton. “I have to be patient with our progress. It is all about the process of getting better each and every day.
“We have to have some guys step up and fill some roles. With only three returning varsity players, we don’t quite know who those guys are going to be.”
