The Chieftains defeated the Raiders 45-32 and went on to drop the Lakers 48-20 in the final dual of the night.
Ben Logan went 1-1 by pulling off a 43-30 victory over Indian Lake in the night’s opening dual.
“It was an exciting night and an exciting finish for our kids,” said BHS head coach Aaron LaBatt. “We take a lot of pride in the county meet and we’re very proud of our guys. We have certainly wrestled better, but we’ll enjoy this for now.
“It was also a special night for our program as a whole. The middle school team also went 2-0, so it was the first time our entire program swept the county meet. Coach Kyle Spence has done a tremendous job with the middle school program. Our entire coaching staff and all of our wrestlers should feel good. It’s great to be a Chieftain right now.”
Going 2-0 for Bellefonaine were Gaige Reeves (113/120), Austin Baker (132), Hunter Swingley (152), Garrett Gross (182), Bruno Pattison (220) and Braden Jacobs (285).
Finishing 1-1 on the night for the Chieftains were Lucas Yoesting (106), Dylan Christman (126), Trey Henderson (138), Noah Yoesting (1-1) and Dawson Miller (160).
“Garrett continues to look better every meet,” said LaBatt. “I thought Hunter wrestled well after a rough start last weekend. Austin wasn’t at his best, but he pulled out two pins for big points. He’ll get better.”
