Bellefontaine’s boys bowling team was unable to advance to the bracket portion of the Division I state tournament Friday in Columbus, but senior Daniel Weikart made his mark with a sensational individual performance.

Weikart shot a threegame series of 679 to finish as the state runner-up. The top five bowlers received first-team all-Ohio honors.
“We are really proud of Daniel and thrilled for him,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jane Kline. “He is the first Bellefontaine bowler to make first team at state. He did a great job.”
