Chester Burl Collier, 86, a former Logan County resident, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, in Jacksonville Beach, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joann; his children, Jeff (Sherry) Collier of Jacksonville, Fla., Lois (Dave) Rhoads of West Liberty, Polly (Mike) Bean of Urbana, Nancy Lile of Bellefontaine, Lisa (Bill) Hilliard of McGuffey, Scott Collier of Urbana, Carrie (Andrew) Steiner of Jacksonville and Sarah (Ben) Mitts of Middleburg, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and a sister, Ethel Chaffins of Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Melinda Collier, and siblings Lloyd, Carl, Ellis, Earl, Hazel Myers and Inez King.
Chester was part of the construction team that poured concrete to create Bellefontaine’s Friendship Fountain.
A celebration of life will be hosted at a later date.
