Ridgemont Board of Education members voted at a special meeting Wednesday evening to accept negotiated agreements with both the Ridgemont Education Association and classified staff members, which will be effective for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years.
This contract includes a 3 percent raise for both certified and non-certified staff and increases the board’s contribution to the Health Savings Account insurance plan for two years as an incentive for early adopters, Superintendent Emmy Beeson said.
The board anticipates the end of the traditional PPO insurance plan in the next few years and urges staff members to switch to the HSA plan during the open enrollment period next October.
School officials said the board’s contribution and outlined benefits for health, dental, vision, and life insurance for the classified staff will be the same as the negotiated agreement for the certified staff members.
Related to buildings and grounds matters, members approved additional furniture for the 2016-17 school year from vendor Tom Sexton at a cost of $33,714.03 to be paid for through CFAP Building Project Funds. This order addresses the furniture needs in classrooms, the collaboration centers in each wing, and the Gopher Den, the superintendent related.
