Grant funds were formally accepted Monday in a regular Russells Point council meeting to fund major infrastructure upgrades to the village already underway.
Council has long been aware of the $300,000 Community Development Block Grant it received to improve its storm water drainage system, but had yet to adopt a formal resolution to accept the funds.
This resolution authorizes Mayor Robin Reames to enter into agreement with the Logan County Commission to accept the CDBG money.
Council passed the resolution on first-and-final reading. John Huffman voted against waiving the three reading rule.
The resolution itself was approved 4-2. Mr. Huffman and Kelly Huffman each voted against accepting $300,000 in CDBG grant funds to improve the storm water drainage system, and to reduce the impact of flooding on the village.
