The Zanesfield Village Council approved an increase Monday evening that will allow the village to move forward with the first phase of the drainage project being planned in conjunction with the Logan County Engineer’s Office.
The $2,500 increase to the street maintenance fund will help pay the village’s matching share of the drainage project, which is being funded in part by grants through the Ohio Public Works Commission.
The first phase would include work in and around Hall-Fawcett Park and west toward town. The remaining four phases will be completed in coming years as money becomes available, village officials have said in recent meetings.
Council also entertained a discussion about the junk vehicles property owner Matt Straker says are an art display on the property north of the Sloan Library, Clerk-Treasurer Vicky Marmon reports.
