Calvary Christian’s girls basketball team handled host Sidney Christian 62-24 on Tuesday in Ohio Valley Christian Conference play. The Spartans are now 14-2 overall and 6-1 in the OVCC.
“This is our fourth game in five nights and I saw some fatigue in our players at the start of the game,” said Calvary head coach Eli Carter. “However, our senior leadership stepped up and responded well.”
Calvary Christian started the game up 17-4 after the first quarter and built a 38-13 lead by halftime. The Spartans outscored Sidney Christian 25-11 over the final two quarters.
Elisha Carter led the scoring with 17 points and five steals, Hannah Marlow had 16 points and seven rebounds and Ruth Boy added nine points.
“I’m very pleased that our reserve players got some action to give our starters a rest,” said Carter. “We take tomorrow off then we participate in a tournament Thursday, Friday, and Saturday making seven games in nine days. I hope our players get enough rest so we are ready to go the next few days.”
