Carol Joann Lindley, 82, of East Liberty, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Bryden Place, Columbus.
She was born March 24, 1934, in Somersville, to the late Clarence and Opal Wood Haines. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lindley; siblings, Mildred Kerns, Dorothy Patterson, Helen Horney Ballinger and Ted Haines; and nephews, Gene Horney and Charles Horney.
Retired from the telephone company, she had worked for Bill Wood Insurance at Indian Lake. She attended the East Liberty Methodist Church and was a member of the Miriam Circle. Joann enjoyed traveling with seniors and spending time with friends. She loved all animals, especially her pets.
Survivors include nieces, Sherry Organ, Roselyn Horney, Barbara (George) Scheiderer, Donna Kay Henderson, Lisa (Mark) Butterfield and Deanna (Bob) Kirby; nephews, Mike Kinikin, Steve (Nancy) Patterson and Stuart (Connie) Patterson; great-nieces, Deborah George and Rhonda Horney; great-nephews, Jeff (Tracy) Horney and Rob (Tara) Horney; sisters-in-law, Vonie (Glenn) Slemmons and Irene (Eddie) Pendleton.
Pastor Linda Moore officiates a funeral at 2 p.m. Wednesday June 22, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Crematory Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, with visitation two hours prior.
