Triad’s boys basketball team grabbed its second Ohio Heritage Conference win of the season Tuesday with a 56-52 win over visiting Northeastern.
The Cardinals bumped their record to 2-16 overall and 1-13 in the OHC North standings.
The Jets slide to 8-10, 6-8.
The score was knotted at 10-10 after the opening quarter. Triad pulled ahead in the second quarter, using a 13-4 run to take a 23-14 halftime lead.
Northeastern fought back during third quarter with a 22-13 effort, which tied the game at 36-36. Triad was four points better (20-16) in the fourth quarter to snag the win.
Ayden Sanford led the Cardinals with 16 points, Batai Lease tallied 14 points and Dillon Nott and Drew Campbell both had nine points.
In junior varsity action, Triad dropped Northeastern 51-26. Derek Bails led the Cardinals with 19 points. Triad travels to West Jefferson on Friday for more OHC action.
