Calvary Christian’s girls basketball team knocked off two-time defending Ohio Christian School Athletic Association state champion New Hope Academy 54-44 in double overtime Friday in Circleville.
The win keeps the Spartans undefeated at 7-0 this season.
“This is Calvary’s fourth year having a girls basketball program and three for a varsity program,” said head coach Eli Carter. “For us to not only compete, but win against a top team speaks volumes of the work these girls have put in. I couldn’t be prouder of our girls and the effort they showed tonight. It took true grit to go into their place, come from behind and win.”
