Brian R. “Doc” Young, age 52, of Raymond, died unexpectedly Monday, September 20, 2021 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Florida.
An associate of Honda Transmission, formerly Bellmar, for almost 32 years, he most recently served as preventative maintenance coordinator. A 1988 graduate of Marysville High School, Doc was also lovingly known to his family and friends as “Clemens,” “Flyin Brian,” “Guy,” or “Dog” and frequently gave out nicknames to others.
As a young adult, he worked as a groundskeeper at Marysville Golf Course. He was a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Kenton. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, sporting clays, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hot rods and gun collecting.
A member of Mad River Sportsman’s Club, he also liked participating in the annual Max’s Trader Days. Brian never met a stranger and couldn’t go anywhere without knowing somebody. He will be especially remembered for being a loving and caring husband, father, grandpa “PopPop,” son, brother and friend.
As he and his wife, Trinity, were anticipating his retirement, they looked forward to their new home in Spring Hill, Florida.
He was born March 10, 1969, in Delaware, and is survived by his wife of 18 years, Trinity Gardiner Young, whom he married June 25, 2003; his children, Brian Christopher Young, Brittany Ann Young, Brandi Nicole Young, Cody Careyette and twin girls, Lexi and Logan White; his grandchildren, Brian, Brianna and Braxton; his mother and step-father, Kathleen “Kitty” Wright Young and Duane Leiter of Raymond; his father and step-mother, Russell and Cheryl Young of Radnor; his siblings, Lynn (Budd) Eubanks, BG (Renee) Young, Connie (Joe) DeFrancis, Jaime (Joy) Leiter, Justin (Sasha) Leiter and Paul Young; his in-laws, Craig and Linda Gardiner and Deb and Kevin Kindelsperger; and many aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. Rev. James Goldsmith will officiate and burial will be at a later date at Raymond Cemetery.
