The Bellefontaine Police Department will be hosting a special event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at the department, located at 135 N. Detroit Street, Bellefontaine.
“We announce an Open House for those interested in joining our team,” Police Chief Brandon Standley said. “The event will include a presentation on hiring standards and process for becoming a police officer, tour of the facilities, viewing some of our additional equipment, and more.
“Don’t miss this chance to meet the staff and introduce yourself to a world of professional policing services.”
The Bellefontaine Police Department is looking for individuals who are service-minded, have a high degree of integrity, ready to learn, open to feedback, and able to communicate easily. This open house opportunity will help participants to know whether they’re prepared to enter this career choice.
The department offers competitive wages and benefits, health insurance plan, pension plan and incentives for attaining additional education. Participants will be provided with information to apply for future vacancies.
“Our family environment is poised and ready to accept individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to serve our community. If you have the desire and accept the challenge, we’ll help you succeed in shaping your future,” representatives said.
Advance registration is requested by e-mailing your name to police no later than noon on the day of the event, or call (937) 599-1010 to register.
Take a valid identification with you to the event. Plan to arrive before 6:30 p.m., as the event begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. and lasts approximately 90 minutes.
