O’DONNELL |
The Indian Lake Board of Education met in a special session Friday afternoon and continued to discuss how to move forward with the superintendent position.
Pat O’Donnell, the school district’s superintendent for the past seven years, was placed on paid leave during a regular school board meeting Monday evening after being arrested that day for gross sexual imposition. He allegedly molested a girl who is now 13 years old but is not a student in the Indian Lake school system.
O’Donnell, 52, was released from jail Tuesday on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court again Monday afternoon.
The board conducted its discussions about the personnel matter in executive session, district spokesperson Jamie Ross said. They met with a lawyer to discuss what legal steps must be taken to change his employment status.
The only action taken after the closed door discussion was an agreement to meet again in special session at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29.
Rob Underwood was named Monday as acting superintendent in addition to his role as high school principal.
