New staff hired
Benjamin Local Schools’ board of education approved Monday in a regular meeting an updated tax abatement proposal for NEX Transport’s planned $10 million expansion of its facility along State Route 287 near East Liberty.
Under the agreement as it was proposed Monday, NEX Transport would pay no real estate taxes for 10 years, and instead make an annual payment in lieu of taxes during that time. That payment would total $12,000 per year, according to the resolution board members approved Monday.
