The Community Blood Center hosts two local blood drives on Wednesday, Nov. 24:
• Mary Rutan Hospital — 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., 205 Palmer Ave., Bellefontaine.
• Quest Community Church — 12:30 to 6:30 p.m., 110 South St., West Liberty.
Everyone who registers to donate will get the “Be a Hometown Hero This Holiday” fleece blanket with CBC blood drop logo. Appointments are encouraged. Schedule online at www.DonorTime.com or call (937) 461-3220.
Blood type O remains in low supply and CBC is counting on “Hometown Heroes” to prevent an emergency shortage.
The CBC must prepare for both pandemic-related disruptions in the blood drive schedule and for the seasonal challenges that lie ahead. People have less time to donate during the holidays and are less able to donate during winter due to seasonal illness and winter weather travel conditions and cancellations.
New donors are needed, including new platelet and plasma donors, and new blood drive sponsors. Call (937)461-3220 to learn how you can help.
