Five Benjamin Logan Middle School students currently have artwork on exhibit in Columbus during Youth Art Month.
Seventh-grader Lily Carmer has a printmaking project displayed at the 36th Annual Young People’s Art Exhibition. The show includes student artworks from all over the state. Lily’s whimsical strawberry-themed prints are on exhibit at the Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus.
The Rhodes State Office Tower is also hosting the Central Ohio Art Education Association’s Regional Art Exhibition, where BLMS students Yale Scheiderer, Leanna Oliver and Lexi Achor are among 47 students from 13 counties with artwork juried into this exhibition.
Yale, a fifth-grader, has an oil pastel artwork featuring an imaginative cat character in the show, while eighth-grader Leanna Oliver has a watercolor painting on exhibit that features a surreal themed tree and its magical surroundings.
Seventh-grader Lexi Achor has four-leaf clover themed artwork in the show. One piece is a clay clover with a weaving inside of it, while the other features a color wheel and elaborate line designs.
Finally, seventh-grader Ashley Gantt’s intricately detailed polymer clay ocean sculpture is on exhibit at the 2016 Youth Art Month Show. Nine regions in Ohio have student artwork represented in the show at the State Teachers Retirement System building.
Receptions were hosted Saturday to recognize the accomplishments of art students from throughout the state. The Ohio Art Education Association sponsors the exhibitions and receptions.
Rick Fuller of Framing by Fuller matted the artwork for each of the Benjamin Logan pupils.
