A longtime Benjamin Logan Schools art teacher will be honored Thursday with the receipt of the Ohio Art Education Association’s 2018 Middle Division Teacher of the Year Award during the OAEA’s state conference.
Benjamin Logan Middle School art teacher Jennifer Davis will be recognized for the statewide accolade during a dinner and awards reception at the Kalahari Convention Center in Sandusky.
Along with Davis’ family, her nominator, Bellefontaine Middle School art teacher Melanie Antram Ingraham, has been invited to join her for the event.
“It is an honor to receive the award from the Ohio Art Education Association,” Davis said this week. “I am grateful for the nomination that Melanie Antram Ingraham kindly submitted.
Melanie is the Bellefontaine Middle School art teacher, and we have enjoyed many professional development experiences together with the Ohio Art Education Association. Melanie and I know firsthand the positive impact OAEA has on visual arts programs throughout Ohio.
“It is because I have been blessed with administrators supportive of my art program that I am receiving the award. Throughout my 23 years at Benjamin Logan schools, I have consistently felt that the administration has advocated for the visual arts program.
