Benjamin Logan’s most academically-talented high school seniors were honored Wednesday during a school-sponsored ceremony offered in conjunction with the Bellefontaine Rotary Club Honors Program.
Thirty-four students who have attained a 3.5 grade point average or higher during their high school career were recognized and treated to light refreshments. The Rotary Club provided certificates and programs for the event in the BLHS Commons.
The event was hosted in place of the 45th Annual Bellefontaine Rotary Club Honors Night, which normally brings together academic achievers from the area high schools within Logan County. Due to the pandemic, the club decided to allow each individual school to recognize students under their own parameters.
Bellefontaine Rotary Club President and 2006 BLHS alumni Dr. Jason A. Robson served as the speaker.
Dr. Robson joined Robson Family Dentistry with his father in 2014 after graduating from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.
“What you have done over the last four years has been very impressive,” he shared with the students. “Celebrate the hard work, discipline, application of knowledge and sacrifices you have endured to overcome life’s challenges and look toward a successful future.”
After remarks from Director of Administrative Services Sally Stolly, the students enjoyed cupcakes prepared by the BLHS Global Foods class.
Stolly has been a Rotarian since 2003 and helped coordinate the event with the school counselors.
“This year’s Bellefontaine Rotary Club scholarships will be announced at the BLHS Senior Awards night on May 19,” she said.
