Forensic Science students at Benjamin Logan High School recently hosted an interactive presentation with K9 Thor and his hander Logan County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Cole Piatt.
The pupils learned about K-9 training and Thor’s unique abilities to assist the LCSO with searches, probable cause notifications and suspect apprehension.
The Forensic Science course deals with the application of science to the law. Students learn the science techniques of crime scene investigation and explore crime scene analysis, physical evidence, forensic entomology, relevant biological and chemical concepts and apply physical principles.
The course also focuses on problem solving procedures to understand how science can be crucial in solving crimes, and how this information is used in a court of law.
