The multimedia exhibition that delves into the profound influence of mentorship.
The narrative of mentorship unfolds, beginning with the enduring impact that Smoky Brown had on the life of Richard “Duarte” Brown. This influence is not only a retrospective exploration, but also extends into the present, as Duarte Brown continues his mentoring activity.
Duarte Brown’s mentoring efforts are showcased through collaborative projects with faculty and students from three Ohio schools: Benjamin Logan High School, Berne Union High School in Sugar Grove, and Whitehall-Yearling High School in Whitehall.
Additionally, the exhibition features the creative contributions of student artists engaged in TRANSIT ARTS, based in Columbus.
“Looking for Family” invites visitors to Beeler Gallery to witness a diverse range of artworks from three key contributors—Smoky Brown, Duarte Brown, and the high school students.
“The exhibition serves as a visual testament to the enduring power of mentorship, illustrating how it shapes lives and artistic expressions across multiple generations and communities,” according to a press release.
