Benjamin Logan’s boys golf squad finished in third at its own Raider Invitational at Liberty Hills Golf Club on Monday.
River Valley, paced by medalist Talan Montieue’s 72, won the tourney with a 324. Versailles was the runner-up with a 346. The Raiders had a 365, London shot 369 for fourth and Kenton was fifth with a 388.
Ethan Ricketts led the Raiders with a 76, which gave him the second-best individual score of the day.
Also for BL, Jacob Mitchell shot 87, Aiden Elsass had a 98, Luke McKenrick shot 104 and Aaron Vogelsang had a 114.
In junior varsity action, Ben Logan’s Kaiden Munz had a 114 and Gage Hamm shot 111.
Calvary Christian also participated, with Patrick James shooting an 89 to lead the Spartans. Isaac Dillion had a 100, Noah LeCrone had a 112, Nate Davis shot 113 and Thomas Hayes had a 132.
Riverside boys win NWCC preseason event
Riverside’s boys golf team placed first in the Northwest Central Conference preseason tournament Monday at Memorial Golf Course in Kenton.
The Pirates won with a 367. Elgin was next with 371, Waynesfield-Goshen took third with 385 and Ridgemont finished fourth with 450.
Drew Jones paced the Pirates with an 89. Brody Rhoads had a 90, Jayden Burchett shot 93, John Zumberger and Zane Rose had 95s and Owen Holycross shot 103.
Chiefs, Lakers compete at Urbana tourney
Bellefontaine and Indian Lake competed in the Urbana Country Club Invitational on Monday.
Tecumseh won the tournament with a 358.
Indian Lake was fifth with a 379.
Lane McPherson led the Lakers with a 74. Josh Staley was next for Indian Lake with a 97, Dylan Rice shot 101, Ethan Elbert had a 107 and Camdon Tuttle added a 121.
Bellefontaine shot a 390.
Liam Harris led the Chiefs with an 80, Jared Salyer shot 98, Joe Boop had a 103, Kody Watts shot 109 and Aidan Mifsud added a 117.
Bellefontaine will host the Ryan Reynolds Invitational on Thursday at Liberty Hills. The field will also include Indian Lake and Benjamin Logan.
GIRLS GOLF
Raiders top Indian Lake
Benjamin Logan’s girls golf squad cruised to a 177-225 win over Indian Lake on Monday at Cherokee Hills Golf Course.
Sydney Wesson was the medalist for the Raiders with a 41. She was supported by Leeah Valentine with a 43, Willow Titus with a 45, Taylor Lafferty with a 48, Olivia Hahn with a 50 and Kensley Lacher with a 59.
For the Lakers, Regan Ross led the way with a 48. Kayla Cummins shot 54, Bree Stid had a 58, Lauren Barhorst shot 65 and Destiny Crumley had a 72.
Riverside takes 6th at Covington
Riverside’s girls golf team finished sixth out of 12 teams in the Covington Lady Buccs Invitational on Monday at Echo Hills Golf Course.
Riverside had a 446 for the 18-hole tournament. The Pirates were led by Roz Estep, who finished 19th overall with a 102.
Also for the Pirates, Mia Stallard had 107, Maddie Sanford shot 118, Sasha Stotler had 119 and Malaina Jenkins carded a 121.
Riverside host Mechanicsburg on Thursday.
Triad slips to Indians
Triad’s girls golf team was defeated by Mechanicsburg 213-265 on Monday at Woodland Golf Club.
Mechanicsburg’s Mazie Reece was the medalist with a 43.
Audra Millice sparked Triad with a 60, Joni Russell shot 67, Hannah McManaway had a 69, Maddie Campbell shot 69 and Alli Gregg had a 69.
