Bellefontaine High School Team 9185A Ben Parsons, Dustin VanBuskirk, Micah Woolf and Zane Warren recently competed at the Pickerington High School Vex Qualifier and garnered a spot at the state competition in March.
At the Pickerington contest, the team won all of their qualifier matches in the morning and were interviewed for their engineering notebook.
The team also placed second in skills scores for the day and won an Excellence Award, which is the highest award given at the competition and is presented to the top all-around team. To qualify for the award, the team must be top-ranked teams after qualifier rounds, have an excellent notebook, have a well-built and a well-designed robot, have a good interview with the judges, get a high skills score and carry themselves well at the competition.
