Bellefontaine High School students learned much more about the college experience Monday afternoon.
BHS juniors and seniors attended College Knowledge in the high school café.
The bi-annual event features a panel of recent BHS alumni who are currently attending college.
The panel provided guidance on how to make a smooth transition from high school to higher education, and members answered questions about college life in the classroom and beyond.
The panel featured:
Landon Earick, Hocking College, Natural Resources Law Enforcement/Police Academy and Marines;
Tommy Belser, Wittenberg University, Accounting;
Abbi Adelsberger, Miami University, Speech Pathology and Audiology and French;
Brant Miranda, Indiana Institute of Technology, Computer Science;
Hannah Rader, The Ohio State University, Nursing;
Angelica Edu, The Ohio State University, Secondary Education and Math;
Davis Norris, Rhodes State College, Business Management;
David Hanley, Wright State University, Physics;
Erin Jackson, Lake Erie College, Business with a minor in Nutrition;
Lauren Easton, University of Findlay, Middle Childhood Education;
Justin Carper, University of Toledo, Pharmacy; and
Madison Taylor, Ohio Northern University, Music Education.
“Our high school kids love to hear from kids who used to sit in these same seats. Some of these college students on the panel were actually in some classes with the BHS juniors and seniors. This makes it very personal,” Bellefontaine City Schools Gifted Coordinator and AP Coordinator Angie Horvath said.
College Knowledge was sponsored by the BHS Academic Booster Club.
