Bellefontaine’s boys golf team grabbed a big win Monday as it edged visiting Springfield Shawnee 178-179 during Central Buckeye Conference action at Liberty Hills Golf Club.
“It’s always a big match against Shawnee,” said BHS head coach Jason Steider. “For the last few years it’s always been decided by a shot or two either way, so it’s nice to get a big CBC win.”
Nicklaus Lyons powered BHS with a low of 40, Hunter Karg followed with a 43, Dillon Robb carded a 44, Evan Standley shot a 51, Derek McNutt had a 52 and Nate Kurtz added a 55.
For the junior varsity, Jared Salyer led BHS with a 45, Jacob Scott carded a 49, Simon Stolly had 53 and Zane Warren had a 62.
