Bellefontaine’s girls tennis team earned its first win of the season Monday by defeating host Springfield Catholic Central 4-1 in non-league action.
The Chieftains are now 1-1 on the season.
Bellefontaine’s first win of the match came at second singles when Lindsay Sevenson won 7-6, 6-0 and followed with a win at third singles when Sierra Bensman rallied for a win in a super tiebreaker third set 6-7, 6-0, 10-8.
The Chieftains swept the doubles matchups. The first doubles team of Gracie Beaverson and Abbi Adeslberger won 6-3, 6-1 and the second doubles team of Na Lin and Taryn Mullins won 6-1, 6-2.
At first singles, Bellefontaine’s Madison Aldo fell 6-1, 6-3.
Bellefontaine hosts Tecumseh on Tuesday for a Central Buckeye Conference match.
