Bellefontaine’s boys swim team continued its strong season Saturday by winning the nine-team Lima Senior Invitational.
“We’ve had a tough week of practice and were impressed to see our swimmers continuing to maintain their times and compete at such a high level,” said BHS head coach Sharon Lewis.
Blake McDonald led the Chiefs with a first-place finish in the 100 freestyle and also finishing first was the 400 freestyle A relay team of Nolan Core, Cooper Harman, Aidan Mifsud and McDonald.
Taking second for Bellefontaine were the 200 medley A relay of John Fulmer, Mifsud, Elias Abrego and Core, the 200 freestyle relay of Abrego, Fulmer, Mifsud and McDonald, Abrego in the 200 IM, McDonald in the 50 freestyle, Fulmer in the 100 backstroke and Mifsud in the 100 breaststroke.
Taking third for the Chiefs were Mifsud in the 100 freestyle and Abrego in the 100 butterfly, while fourth-place efforts went to the 400 freestyle B relay team of Beckham Harman, Quinton Eley, Jaylen Henry and Cody Hudson, Core in the 200 freestyle, Fulmer in the 50 freestyle and Hudson in the 100 breaststroke.
Also for the Chiefs, the 200 medley relay B team of Beckham Harman, Hudson, Cooper Harman and Ryan Alexander finished sixth, Core placed eighth in the 100 freestyle, Alexander was fifth in the 100 backstroke and sixth in the 200 freestyle, Cooper Harman placed fifth in the 500 freestyle and eighth in the 100 freestyle and Beckham Harman was sixth in the 100 backstroke.
Bellefontaine’s girls team finished third out of nine teams.
Leading the Lady Chiefs with a win was the 400 freestyle relay team of Joslyn Robinson, Ashton Carey, Elaina Ullom and Olivia Ullom.
Taking second for the Chiefs were Olivia Ullom in the 100 breaststroke, Carey in the 500 freestyle and Robinson in the 200 IM.
Third-place finishes went to the 400 freestyle relay of Maddie Ullom, Kaeleigh Flora, Gillian Steele and Zoey Rister and Robinson in the 100 freestyle.
Olivia Ullom placed fourth in the 200 freestyle, the 200 medley relay team of Olivia Ullom, Elaina Ullom, Kate Myers and Robinson was fifth, Kate Myers was fifth in the 100 butterfly and sixth in the 200 IM, Kaeleigh Flora was sixth in the 100 butterfly and eighth in the 200 IM, Elaina Ullom placed seventh in the 100 freestyle, Maddie Ullom was seventh in the 100 backstroke , Carrey was eighth in the 200 freestyle, Alexis Buffkin was eighth in the 500 freestyle, the 200 freestyle A relay team of Carey, Ella Costin, Myers and Rister finished seventh and the 200 freestyle B relay team of Emma Merrin, Emma Costin, Gillian Steele and Claire McDonald was eighth.
