The Chiefs have to quickly switch from celebration mode back to preparation mode as they face a talented Springboro squad in a sectional semifinal game at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Vandalia Butler High School.
“Obviously, a win in the first round gives our team a boost moving forward,” said Bellefontaine head coach Henry Stolly. “We feel that being familiar with the court and surroundings will help our team relax and focus on the task in hand.”
Junior guard Dawsin Tillman buried a three-pointer in the final seconds to lead Bellefontaine to an upset victory over Northmont in the sectional opener.
The Chiefs will battle another member of the Greater Western Ohio Conference in the Panthers.
Springboro (17-5) went 8-2 in conference play to finish in a tie for first in the GWOC South division with Xenia and Fairborn.
“They have size in their interior game, they are physical and they have solid guard play,” said Stolly. “They execute their offense very well.”
