Betty Jean Trout, 84, of West Liberty, formerly of Huntsville and Lakeview, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
Betty was born Jan. 12, 1934, in Obetz, a daughter of the late Daniel and Della Smith Cramer. She married Donald Trout and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dale Baxley; two grandchildren, Tina Loper and Sylas Daniels; and four siblings, Deloris Gehring, Thelma Cramer, Ruth Martin and Daniel Cramer Jr.
Betty is survived by five children, Bonnie (Tom) Loper of DeGraff, James (Gayle) Trout of Quincy, Donald Trout Jr. of Lakeview, Daniel (Tina) Trout of Huntsville and Barbara (Stephen) Lawrence of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Laura (Tony) Sclesky, Kim (Terry) Rister, Jimmy Trout, Chelsea Trout, Kaylin Trout, Dakota Trout, Paul (Danielle) Blair Jr., David (Chanda) Blair and Dustin (Daniele) Blair, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Betty loved animals, especially cats and birds. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at Green Hills playing bingo and farkle.
Pastor Karen Blackburn begins memorial services at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial is at a later date in Greenwood Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Betty’s name to the National Audubon Society, www.audubon.org and charities of the donors’ choices.
