Betty Jane Reynolds, 97, formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 11, 2018, at Chandler House in Jefferson City, Tenn.
Betty was born in Bellefontaine on Dec. 18, 1920, to the late Benjamin and Cora Ann Spurlock Easton. She married William “Bill” Henry Reynolds Sr. on Feb. 7, 1943, in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death April 21, 2002. Betty was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Alan Reynolds; four sisters, Thelma Dear, Mildred Keegan, Martha Hinkle and Rose Ellen Easton; four brothers, Fred, Emmett, Harry and John “Wes” Easton; and a stepbrother, Theodore Spurlock.
A 1942 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Betty worked many years at Westinghouse as an assembler and she later worked in the meat department at Kroger. She was a member of the ladies’ auxiliary of the American Legion and Elks. Betty previously attended First Friends Church and Quest Community Church.
Betty is survived by a son, William H. (Constance) Reynolds Jr. of Semora, N.C.; daughter, Lynda (Curtis) Wirick of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Shannon W. Wirick, William H. Reynolds III, Charles Alan Wirick and Kelli M. Reynolds; three great-grandchildren, L.J. Lunsford, Ashlyn Reynolds and William Henry Reynolds IV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service begins at 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, at Bellefontaine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214.
