Rushsylvania resident Angel Early won first place in Friday’s open class baked cakes contest, and one of her number-one fans made it possible for her cream cheese-stuffed carrot cake entry to be a part of the competition.

Her best friend Jessica Crum delivered Early’s cake to the Logan County Fair Friday, noting that Early had to work that day. Then Crum eagerly watched the proceedings, keeping her friend updated on the judge’s comments.
“We both like to bake together, so this year, we said, ‘Why don’t we enter some items in the fair?’” Crum explained. “We each had items that sold at the bake sale Wednesday night; it was a lot of fun.”
“Angel had to work today, so I was happy to bring her entry over for her and now I can let her know the good results.”
