Bellefontaine Elementary School second-grader Jessica Grumbling rings a bell for the school’s first of three bell ringing ceremonies this school year to recognize students who exemplify the school vision: Be Kind, Be a Leader, Be Responsible for Yourself. For the first ceremony, students were nominated by their classroom teachers, with one student from each classroom being awarded. Students who were recognized were invited to the front of the gym to ring a large bell. They received a special T-shirt to wear so others can easily see the Chieftain leaders and their nomination was read to the rest of the students in their grade level. In addition to Jessica, the other bell ringers for the first ceremony were: kindergartners Crosley Stewart, Emma Layman, Aaron Hughes, Miley McKirahan, Phoebe Robinson, Teagan Brown, Masyn Wilson, Jakyson Johnson and Kyler Vollrath; first-graders: Harley Brogan, Joelle Eaton, Baya Deal, Desmond Howard, Elisa Millis, Joni Stefanac, Mia Regula and Marissa Oaks; and second-graders: Jocelyn Meyers, Alexandra Ball, Hailey Johnson, Kira Millis, Keaton Dinovo, Treyvon Brown and Myla Rausch. For the next two bell ringing ceremonies, students will be nominated by non-classroom teachers and support staff. (BELLEFONTAINE SCHOOLS PHOTO)
