Berman Max Wilkins, 60, of West Liberty, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 13, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Urbana on Oct. 20, 1956, to the late Berman and Martha McCullough Wilkins. Max was also preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Zeigler and Becky Wiant, and two nephews, Rory Zeigler and Geno Sayer.
Max is survived by his wife, Alicia Marie Morris Wilkins, whom he married March 26, 1989, in Cable; a daughter and son-in-law, Kellee Wilkins and Chris Hall and their children, Xavier, Lucas and Lillian; a son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Delayna Wilkins and their children, Jude, Lydia, Levi and Micah; mother of Kellee and Jacob and former wife, Kim Calland Stolarksi; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Carl Partrick; brother, Jerry Wilkins; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Shauna Wilkins; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Zeigler and Steve Wiant; sister-in-law and her husband, Anita and Rick Pittinger; brothers-in-law and their wives, Paul and Myra Morris and Tim and Kelly Morris; 19 nieces and nephews; 28 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 19 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
A 1975 graduate of West Liberty-Salem High School, Max obtained an associate degree from Lincoln Technical College. He previously worked at Smith Douglas Fertilizer, the Champaign County Soil & Water District and most recently with Drackett Inc. Max enjoyed muscle cars and was a member of Mt. Carmel Friends Church in Cable.
Max was a man who loved Jesus and boldly shared that love. Unable for several years to do anything physically, he daily prayed through his list of family, friends, fellow believers, Alicia’s co-workers and many others.
Max donated his body to the Ohio State University Anatomy Department.
A remembrance of life and testament of faith service was Sunday at the Mt. Carmel Friends Church with Pastor Jereme Proudman officiating.
