Benjamin Logan’s boys soccer team pulled out a 2-1 victory over host Fairbanks on Wednesday during a non-league battle.
The Raiders are now 2-2-1 on the season and the Panthers slide to 2-2. George Kern scored in the first half for Ben Logan on a free kick to give his team a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
In the second half, Rylan Studebaker scored again for the Raiders on a free kick and a 2-0 lead. Fairbanks scored on a penalty kick with 20 minutes left in the game, but could not get any closer.
“We had great fight out of the boys tonight,” said Ben Logan head coach Jamie Hughes. “It was a little slow to start, but after about 20 minutes the next 60 minutes I thought we really played well.”
