Republican Paul Benedetti outpaced Democrat Teresa Johnston 3 to 1 to win an open Logan County Commissioner seat.
According to unofficial vote totals, he garnered 12,067 votes to Johnston’s 4,062 votes.
“I would like to thank all the voters of Logan County for the great turn out and especially thank everyone that worked on my committee and all the families throughout the community for their support and their prayers,” Benedetti said.
“I also want to thank my opponent, (Belle Center) Mayor Theresa Johnson for running a positive campaign and look forward to working with her in her current role.”

More than half of county’s registered voters cast ballots
Slightly more than 52 percent of Logan County’s 31,663 register voters cast ballots in Tuesday’s midterm elections.
According to unofficial totals from the Logan County Board of Elections, 16,752 ballots were cast. Of those, 5,591 were absentee/early votes and 269 were provisional votes.
The provisionals votes will be counted when the board meets to certify the elections results at 1 p.m. Nov. 19.
