Bellefontaine’s boys and girls swim teams defeated Jonathan Alder and Botkins in a double dual meet Tuesday at the Hilliker Y.
The Chieftain boys beat the Pioneers 55-36 and won against Botkins 57-37.
“The team came off a hard practice yesterday and I was proud of them for pushing through the meet in such a strong way,” said head coach Sharon Lewis. “They continued to show growth and support one another throughout the meet as well.”
Leading the BHS boys with first-place finishes were the 400 freestyle A relay of Blake McDonald, Nolan Core, John Fulmer and Cooper Harman, Aidan Mifsud in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke and McDonald in the 50 freestyle.
Finishing second for the Chiefs were the medley A relay team of Fulmer, Mifsud, Elias Abrego and Cooper Harman, the 200 freestyle A relay team of McDonald, Core, Abrego and Mifsud, Core in the 200 freestyle, McDonald in the 100 backstroke, Abrego in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke, Fulmer in the 100 freestyle and Cooper Harman in the 500 freestyle.
Adding third-place finishes for the Chieftain boys were the 400 freestyle B relay team of Ryan Alexander, Beckham Harman, Cody Hudson and Jaylen Henry, Fulmer in the 100 backstroke and Alexander in the 500 freestyle.
Bellefontaine’s girls team edged Jonathan Alder 47-45 and beat Botkins 53-41.

Bellefontaine was led by two relay victories. Those included the medley A relay of Joslyn Robinson, Olivia Ullom, Morgan Henry and Elaina Ullom and the 400 freestyle A relay of Ashton Carey, Elaina Ullom, Robinson and Olivia Ullom.
Recording individual wins for the Lady Chiefs were Carey in the 500 freestyle and Olivia Ullom in the 100 breaststroke.
Taking second for Bellefontaine were Carey in the 200 freestyle, Henry in the 100 butterfly and Olivia Ullom in the 100 freestyle.
Adding third-place finishes for BHS were the medley B relay team of Kate Myers, Carey, Kaeleigh Flora and Zoey Rister, the 200 freestyle A relay team of Rister, Kaidi Freeman, Maddie Ullom and Myers, the 400 freestyle B relay team of Emma Costin, Emma Merrin, Alexis Buffkin and Maddie Ullom and Robinson in the 50 freestyle.
Bellefontaine returns to action Saturday at the Lima Senior Invitational.
