Bellefontaine’s softball team sent its seniors out with a bang Monday by dominating visiting Tippecanoe 16-6 in six innings for a Central Buckeye Conference victory.
The Chieftains improve their record to 7-14 overall and 6-8 in the Kenton Trail standings. The Red Devils fall to 5-13 overall and 4-9 in the Kenton Trail.
“I was extremely proud of how well our girls played. They came out hitting the ball hard,” said BHS head coach Katie Buffkin. “In the second inning we scored all nine runs on two outs. It was a real team effort and it was great to see everyone working together and being able to send the seniors off on such a high note.”
Bellefontaine scored one run in the first inning and took control of the game with nine runs in the second inning for a 10-0 cushion.
