Bellefontaine’s volleyball team rallied for a five-set win over host Riverside on Saturday in a non-league match. The Pirates won the first two sets 25-16, 25-20, but saw BHS storm back to take the next three 25-16, 25-20, 15-5.
The Chieftains are now 2-18, while the Pirates fall to 5-15. Hannah Rader sparked BHS with 21 kills, 14 digs and four blocks, Laney Yoder tallied 13 kills and 15 digs, Chalony Tolliver had six kills and 15 digs, Arianna Nunez recorded 21 digs and Madi Daiey had 12 digs.
For Riverside, Lauryn Sanford led the way with 11 kills and nine assists and Shelby Giles added nine kills and 15 digs.
