Bellefontaine Municipal representatives announced Friday the receipt of three technology grants from the Ohio Supreme Court.
Two of the grants — totaling $69,861.46 — will be used to update the courts’ recording and video conferencing systems. The updates will include installing a new recording processor and software, two HD cameras with zoom lens, new microphones, as well as a new LED LCD monitor for the judge on the courtroom bench.
The installation will take place in the courtroom as well as at the Logan County Jail, which will improve access to justice for inmates.
The third grant totaling $25,814.46 will be used to update security technology by replacing 15 outdated cameras with 20 high definition cameras which will provide 100 percent coverage of both the interior and external portions of the court building.
The advanced video analytics will provide person and object definition and perimeter protection. This system will tie the existing panic buttons and door access readers with the cameras and will alert immediately to the Bellefontaine Police Department Dispatchers so they can respond immediately to any attempted breach.
