Bellefontaine Moose Lodge 2563 hosts a community blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 21, when the Community Blood Center Bloodmobile is at the 912 S. Detroit St. site.
Everyone who registers to donate will get a pair of green argyle socks to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day week.
The CBC is providing blood to a growing number of hospitals outside of its traditional 15-county service area and is seeking new donors, double red blood cell donors, and platelet and plasma donors.
Many CBC community blood drives now include automated donations. An automated double red blood cell donation contributes two units to the blood supply. To find out if automated donations are right for you, talk to a CBC specialist at (937) 461-3220.
Platelets and plasma are critical for the treatment of cancer, trauma, transplant and burn patients. Red cells are frequently needed in surgeries and emergencies.
