Player of the year — Tyler Jones, Bellefontaine
Bellefontaine’s Tyler Jones was at his best when the Chiefs needed him the most this season. Jones went 3-0 on the mound in the postseason, leading BHS to a Division I district championship and a spot in the regional tournament. On the season, the hard-throwing righthander went 10-1 with 68 strikeouts in 71 innings. He had an ERA of 0.98. Jones was also one of the team’s best hitters, batting .369 with five doubles, one triple and 15 RBI. (EXAMINER PHOTO | MATT HAMMOND)
